Training/Education

On-the-Job Training
The On-the-Job Training (OJT) program offers employers a financial incentive to hire motivated job seekers and train them on the specific skills needed by your business. The staff of the Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent Business Services Group can help you design a training plan. New workers learn job-specific skills in a structured “hands-on” environment. As the employer, you can be reimbursed for part of the trainee’s wages during a negotiated training period. You get a motivated employee who meets your specific needs and we pay you for training them.

Subsidized Employment
Subsidized Employment is full- or part-time employment in the private or nonprofit sector, where a portion of the individual's wages are subsidized (federal or state funds may subsidize the wages); or short-term employment that allows the individual to learn the skills necessary to transition into unsubsidized employment. Subsidized Employment may occur in either the private sector or the public sector. It includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Subsidized internships with a portion of the employee’s wages subsidized;
  • Subsidized employment with a staffing agency acting as the employer of record and/or
  • Subsidized employment with the actual employer acting as the employer of record

Customized Training
The staff of the Workforce Solutions Golden Crescent Business Services Group can help you design, finance and implement customized job training programs for new or existing workers. Customized training merges business needs and job training opportunities into a winning partnership. Businesses contribute up to 50 percent of the cost of the training; we cover the rest.
